Leslie Amick has been an artist all her life. Winning various awards including a blue ribbon in the San Antonio Area Council of Girl Scouts Art Show for a marvelous winter skating scene, and a carton of Mounds candy bars for her famous-for-15-seconds drawing of Mr. Moose, she went on to pursue a degree in Fine Art at Kennesaw State University, where her 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional art was recognized in shows of student work, and in juried shows in the community. Coming from a background of watercolors and printmaking, Leslie’s fascination with color and pure pigment focused her concentration on pastels as a medium. She has attended workshops with Bob Rohm and Sally Strand where she has developed her landscape style of bold colors and natural elements. “My goal is to provide little windows of escape into wide-open spaces for the viewers of my work. A place to rest your eyes and explore a bit while taking in the rich colors and serene beauty of the surroundings.” Leslie’s work has been shown in venues including: Kennesaw State College Student Art Show, 1994, 1995, Southeast Regional University Art Show, 1995, Kennesaw Department of Recreation Juried Art Show, 1996, Kennesaw State University Alumni Art Show, 2008. Leslie’s work is in various private collections around the country: Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Robinson, Denver, CO, Mr. and Mrs. J. Schoondergang, San Antonio, TX, Mr. and Mrs. G.
